I have a 2003 automatic and recently tried to start it up and found that I couldn't turn the key after inserting it into the switch, the trans is in the park position and the steering wheel is not locked, couldn't find anything in the manual, wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Frustrated
I had the same problem about 2-3 months ago.
I would insert the key and at first it would not turn, but I jiggled it and worked the stirring wheel, finally the key would turn, but no power. T make a long story short, I was towed to the dealer and it turned out to be a bad ignition cyclinder, I was covered, but the cost was $638.

I don't have an automatic, but some cars won't let you start them without the foot on the brake. Is this the case with Corvettes?
And if so, it could be the brake light switch or the fuse for it. I've had that happen on a couple of cars.
Will it let you push the selector into drive? If not, could be what I just described.
I dunno, just a shot.
(edit)...nope, never mind. I just re-read your post and saw that the key won't even turn. Does sound like your ignition switch. Squirt a small amount of WD-40 in there if it won't hurt the key sensor.
