Hey guys, Ive been going back and forth about changing colors on my vette.Any input would be great! hav a Silver/Convert '01.It wasnt my first choice of color, but the deal was to good to pass by.Ive always wanted a Black vette. So thinkng bout changing the color. My questions are will the quailty of paint be the same? is it worth it? im sure the cost is gonna be 6-10 grand.I now the car would look awesome, but wow it is expensive.,maybe i should just f*** it and trade it for a Black C6. wut u think?
Sell it and buy a black car. If the whole car is painted the first thing any future buyer will want to know is "how bad was it wrecked?". There is a lot involved in a color change. all the areas that you may not need to paint for a repair or a freshen up, will need to be painted as well. The factory paint is not as good a quality as you could get in the aftermarket but you will pay the price. Are there other options you would want? Heads up? Navigation? Wheels? You may find just what you are looking for in another car. You settled on this one because of the "deal" If it is not what you really wanted is it honestly a "deal". Find the car you are looking for and put the money fron this one toward that one. If you really got as good a deal as you might think, the money you make on this car will offset the money you spend on the next one. Good luck.
many aftermarket paint jobs are better than factory depending on where you have the work done. 1. if you're gonna shell out that much for a paint job, its gonna be SLICK..much better than the factory peel. 2. not that it matters if you're goin with black, but most cars these days aren't completely painted together.. bumpers are painted in seperate factories and almost always shades off from the rest of a car, especialy with metallics. you could get out much cheeper than 6-10k if you know somebody that does paint/body on the side and possibly get a little extra tlc than a big shop where turn around is stressed and greed is at the heart.... now about trading for a c6.... doesn't sound too bad either.

Look around and paint your Vette a color nobody has. Dare to be different. I was going to spend almost $4k on air brushed graphics and clearcoat. But then it would still be a stock color like a million other people have. But, I show my car and want to be different.
