My transmission is now shifting into 4th gear fine, NOW its a pain in the *** to get it into 1st and its notchy as hell. When I try to stick it into 1st, with the shifter all the way over and up, the car starts out in 3rd... wtf? The stick will not re center in neutral now either. When I got my car back, there was grease all over it, every where!!! food wrappers in the floor and under the seat, and looks like someone spilled a drink all over my car To say the least, I am pissed... they will NEVER see my car again. Whats the best action to take from here and what do you think is wrong with my transmission? Almost sounds like a linkage adjustment to me but who knows.

They also took out a nice chunk of paint

I do not blame you for being upset. Does the manager or owner of the shop know of all of what you have stated. I would take the car to an auto detail shop and get a quote. Take it back and and demand payment for the quote. Whether you do the clean up yourself or have it done at least you have been paid for it. I would also call the better business bureau.

Who, what, where, when, and why? Was the shifter removed?? If so, it could be that it needs to be adjusted.

That sucks, I wouldn't be too happy about that. What kind of work was the car in for? As someone else posted if they were doing transmission work it could be a mis-alignment?

Sorry guys... I bought my car from Luxury auto sales in Woodbridge VA about 2 months ago. I drove the car and everything checked out so I bought it. They also told me that there was a new transmission in the car. It wasnt until later on that my car did not like to go into 4th gear, it would go into the gate but when I let the clutch out and gave it some gas, it would spit it out and make a horrible noise. I called them back because they told me the guy that put the transmission in the car offered a 3 month warranty (also purchased extended warratny but, thats not in effect for another month or so). He told me to bring it down and he would have a look at it. At the same time, the car was, and still is, leaking clutch fluid. When I come out in the morning the pedal sticks to the floor as I pump it and raise it to get the air bubbles out of the line and then I add some more DOT 4. It also sprays all over the exhaust headers when it is being ran hard, you can smell it. He has had the car for about 5 weeks and now that I have it back, I just dont want it anymore.

I am not too suprised because, i didnt expect the car to be perfect when I bought it but, this is just rediculous. The transmission is now also "whining" when you get into it. I cant really prove the damage that he did was done by him but I know it was. He put a new slave cylinder in to stop the clutch fluid from leaking, charged me 250 for that and its still leaking. The transmission is now worse than ever ALTHOUGH 4th gear is buttery smooth and the rear window fell out of my vert. I know thats somewhat of a common problem with the C5 though.

I dont know where the clutch is leaking and I dont know what is wrong with the transmission. I do know they are not capable mechanics and that VetteDoctors is more than capable of fixing my problems. Just have to wait for the warranty to kick in and forward some more cash.

your shifter neds to be re aligned easy to do, but to fix the clutch leak everything has to come back out.

Here we go again.... Something just met its maker, it sounds like someone put a baseball card on my flywheel and its ticking as fast as the engine is idling, it becomes less appearant when I put the car in gear and let the clutch out. Its running fine but what the hell? Guess I bought someone elses problem

I love this car, I just dont have the money to put into it right now. May have to sit until next year although I am still going to see what I can do
