I used to be very active, but mostly lurking of late. Got a question.
I got the "Service Column Lock" message because I let the battery run down, so I removed the fuse panel, and did the fuse 25 procedure. That got rid of the message.
My problem is that I cannot seem to secure the fuse panel back with the fastener. I have the panel on so that I can read the writing on it. Is it installed correctly or does it need to be reversed so that the writing is upside down. I cannot seem to get the screw to go in?
I think you are talking about the passenger side fuse cover. If I remember, try putting it on so the writing is upside down. I have only taken it of a few times but that should work. I am at work other wise I'd go check for sure.
Hmmm.....I've only had my cover off once and I found it was mounted upside down. The "up" side was open....a three sided cover.....I didn't like the idea that any water leak would go straight into the fuse box.
The problem with turning it over was some wiring in the way....so I just rerouted a couple of wires and it went on okay right side up.
Is it just easier to mount upside down? Or is it supposed to be right side up?? ...closed at the top.
That's what I recall anyway without going out to look again.
It is clearly easier to mount upside down and I agree, don't like the thought of the upside not protected when mounted that way. I tried it rights side up and you can get it on, but I could not screw the fastener in. Oh, and it is very hard to remove that way.
