100,000 98 Vette Maintenance
I am looking at a 98 Corvette coupe equiped with an auto tranny that registers just a tad over 100,000 miles. It is owned by a Corvette enthusiast who has modified it with the usual brake, exhaust, and intake mods I have read about in this forum. I am concerned that I may have to replace high ticket items in the not too distant future. I know no one can reliably predict component longevity, just an idea of what the usual mile marker areas of concern. Does an automatic trans require more maintenace than a clutch/manual tranny. I know abuse of these components can speed their demise, but other than one owned by a little-ole-lady-from-Pasedena, I think most male owners tend to spread a Corvettes wings every now and then. Cars are as individual as their owners, I just don't want t buy an automotive " money pit "....!
