Default HELP!! Please Check ZO6 Leaf Spring's Casting Number!

I've purchased some takeoff 2004 ZO6 springs from a forum member. They did not have any stickers on the springs when I received them so I could not verify they were indeed ZO6 springs though the seller swears they are off his 2004 ZO6.

Now that I've swapped them with my FE1 (base) springs and both the FE1 and the ZO6 springs have the same casting numbers (both fronts: 22146483) (both rears: 22146484) I'm really doubting if these are indeed ZO6 springs. They also have the same curvature and look identical to my FE1 springs. See pictures below.

Can anyone verify their casting numbers on their ZO6 springs and what year ZO6 that is from?

Thanks for any help!

-Jeff

Off my '02 Z06:

rear 22188078

front shows
1-4
22171750
4/18/02

I couldn't make out the date or any other markings on the rear spring. It was a little hard to see in my shed at night using a flashlight. I hope this helps.

Yes, that is the information I'm looking for. THANK YOU!!
I'm hoping some more people will chime in, preferably with a 2004 ZO6.

I drove the car last night and the suspension with the supposed ZO6 parts didn't feel any different than the base FE1 suspension I had before. I thought there would have been a sharper contrast between the two.

Anyone else?

This is excellent information, please keep it coming. I'm still hoping to get a response from a 2004 ZO6 owner.

Looks to me like you have confirmation that you have non Z06 springs. Only the shocks changed in '04, not the springs.

SOB!!!!

You are probably right but I really don't want to admit it and I'm a bit unsure of how to deal with this. I'll point the seller in the direction of this thread and hopefully, between the two of us, we can figure something out.

To be honest, I'm really not looking forward to completing all of this installation again...especially the front spring. I know some guys can knock this stuff out in a few hours, but the front spring and swaybar took me approximately five hours. Just the process of removing and installing the spring was almost 2 hours.

BTW - The ZO6 swaybars sent to me from the same person seem to be correct...just eyeballing the diameter of the bars.

I just spoke with the seller and he has another set of ZO6 springs that he's verified the casting numbers on and will be shipping to me soon. So I'm not out any money, just a bunch of man hours and skin/blood from the installation (possibly some damage done to my marriage too!).

Now I'm pretty excited to see what the ride will be like with the correct springs!!

I've got some Bilstein Sports that should come my way in a little bit, so I'll most likely install the correct ZO6 springs when I do the shock install. That should stiffen up the ride noticeably.
This time around, for the front spring, I’m definitely going to disconnect the tie rods for the install. Last time about killed me.

Z06 springs are much flatter than the FE1 base springs. That is the easist way to tell the difference.

I read the same thing. Apparently they are flatter so they can have the same ride height with a stiffer spring as the base suspension Corvettes.

Interestingly, I spoke with Gene Culley and he said visually there was no way to tell the two springs apart (FE1 and FE3).
