I like the look, but I think I would do something like Patches did for the one he has. Although I don't know if my car will ever be a clean as his are!
Do you need an external antenna?
Or are you getting good reception?
looks good though.
I am going to need a new one.My suv has a lowrance 500c (way to big for a C5.
Thinking about a Nuvi 650. Consumer reports likes it also.
Have a good one and great mount
Get the Nuvi 650 you will love it, I have the 660 and it is awesome and your concern on the reception on the lower location does not present a problem, I have used mn Nuvi 660 in the stock cup holder area and no issues. What I like about the 650/660 it tells you the street name and to turn left or right so I do not look at my Garmin that often when on the road anyway
That is a very clean looking install! But I'm with Bill K. That's a long way to look from the windshield. Although people hate it, I mount mine straight on the windshield. I hate looking down while driving.
I agree, a long way from the windshield.
A.J. if you are happy who cares if others hate it? #!^& them!!
I mount mine on the center wind shield.
Maybe for Talldude in Nevada it is illegal to mount on the windshiled as it is in some states.
Very clean, The only trouble I would have with an install like that is you have to look so far away from the windshield. I have a GPS and I know you have to look at it from time to time. I mounted mine in the lower left of the windshield.
Mine is in the centre, suction cup on the windshield looks like hell, but I like the line of vision.
We use our Garmin 600 in 3 different vehicles so we want it portable. I bought a "weighted/padded round shaped donut" with a flat center section that allows the suction cup to stick to it. This way you can place the GPS system anywhere on your dash and I assure you, it does not move. Bestbuy sells these for $29.99! Good luck, Ron
