Fair price for header install....
What's a fair price to have a set of LG Street headers installed at a tuner shop? I was quoted $600.00.
Thanks.

Hey Oak,
Thanks for the offer! But, 1200 miles would be a long haul! I might just jump in and do the install at home.

A shop shouldn't charge you more then $400. You could really just do it yourself as mentioned above.

I was looking into getting some longtubes and noticed that a few of you said it is easy to instal headers... I heard it was dificult.
I was able to instal my exhaust pretty easily but i dont know if I would be able to do headers...
Exactly how good with cars do u need to be to instal headers?

you need to be able to get the car about 2.5 feet off the ground and know what a wrech is and how to use one. Not hard at all

No it is not necessarily difficult, however to not underestimate the fact that it is also not as easy as changing you oil.
Depending on the headers you may have to :
Remove the coil packs
Remove the valve covers
Loosen the engine mounts and raise the engine for installation clearance
Etc.
Also keep in mind that unless you are installing a new x-pipe matched to the headers you will need have the stock H-pipe modified to fit the header flange.
Some of the drivers side headers go in from the bottom on the drivers side. You need to get the car higher then the standard jackstands to do this so you need to hve the proper equipment and be careful.
If you are comfortable doing this then go for it.

Lot's of 1st timers say afterwards that they wished they would have just paid the $400 to have it done.
Break off 1 of the bolts when you are taking off the old exhaust and you're in for some real fun...or should I say bonding with your machine.

Yup you're right you can get this done for anywhere from $400 to $600. I paid $589.00. Someone once told me its better to pay too much than too little . Because when you pay too much all you stand to lose is a little money, If you pay too little you may lose everything because what you bought may not do what you want.
