Default Delrin shift ****-Love it!

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that I just installed the delrin shift **** on my 02 Z06 and I love it. It is so much easier to shift gears. And the straight **** feels great. Much shorter than the stock ****. If you want a great cheap upgrade, and don't want to change the shifter, I would highly recommend this ****!

I liked the Delrin **** alot. Unfortunately, I just sold mine - if it would have fit the C6-Z06 shifter, I would have kept it.

I love my Delrin too. I didn't know that it wasn't going to fit on the C6Z shifter that bought. Damn.

Hey how does you rnew C6Z shifter compare to your OEM C5Z with the Delrin ****? Was it a big improvement?

Shifting is much smoother and it doesn't burn off your fingers, especially when you're coming up to the line on a hot, sunny day.

No comparison between the C5 and C6Z shifters. Even with the Delrin ****, the throws on the C5 shifter were quite long. The C6Z shifters has a noticeably shorter throw, and the shifts are much smoother.

I have one also.Waited about 3 months from Ecklers! I am a bit old school, use to have a pistol grip, slap stick in a cuda and also use to a long throw so I love it on my stock shifter. Also like that I can rest my hand on top of it with arm on console quite comfortably. The feel of the grip is super solid and never too hot.I am just a street driver ,no track stuff. The diameter is perfect also. The length perfect as well.

+1 for Hurst/delrin ****.

Only issue I've had is the **** gets a bit "slippery" from sweaty hands in Texas in August - really requires a glove for quick/smooth shifting at that point.

Bob, I've got a solution for your slippery Delrin ****. I had the same issue... There's a product called Plasti-Dip, that is a liquid in a can. It's primarily used for things like coating the handle on a pair of pliers, etc. So, I got a can of black Plasti-Dip, and rigged up a fixture to let me dip the Delrin **** into the Plasti-Dip, without getting it into the threads. I dipped it twice (2 coats). It dries to a smooth, matte finish that has lots of grip. It completely solved my slippery issue with the ****. I think I've still got most of the can left, if it hasn't set up in the can. Since we're both in the same little town, if you want to bring your Delrin **** over some time, we can dip it, and you'll be set. Or, you can get it at Lowe's or Home Depot. Last I checked, Lowe's had black only, and Home Depot had black and red, I think. PM or email me if you're interested...
