Folks can we try and keep this venue related to only ZO6 topics. If you have pics or mods that you've done please post them in C5 General as we are all C5's.

It seems like this venue has become a chat venue for ZO6 owners. Do you really feel it fair to those who come into here looking for answers to see all these non related threads?

I think that if its related to a z06 then fine, but I think that c5 general is for people that have a c5 and not a z06, and for people looking for answers and see non related threads, isnt that what the search feature is for.

 

I personally dont have a problem with the Z06 section the way it was, only because it gets less traffic. There is an occasional thread thats non Z related but it keeps things moving in here sometimes.

Anyways just my opinion.

Some posts were off topic and by no way related to a Z06, but I think pics and mods performed on a Z06 should be allowed. Just my thoughts.

I really dont have a problem with the way it was or is (I do think that lately the mods tend to lock things a bit quicker than they should instead of giving a warning or moving it..... just my $.02). I agree that it keeps things moving and creates a more active forum. This is an online community where we all have a common interest, doesnt hurt once in a while to hear something slightly off topic as it helps us all get to know one another a bit better.

I don't understand why we can't have a C5 Z06 room. Z06 owners get bashed to hell by C5 coupe owners at every given chance. I only post in here now, because every time I posted something in the C5 general it started into a why the coupe is far superior to the C5 Z06, not the C6 Z06 since it has "coupe" lines.

C5 has a ton of rooms for different issues, can't we have just one room for US? There are only 24,000 C5 Z06 owners in the country, and we can't have a room for stuff we did to OUR Z06?

Maybe I just need to give up internet forums period as we are being chased away by the masses, and this is just another example of that.

Do you think it's fair that all we should do all day long is answer Z06 specific questions for new or non-owners, as most Z06 owners already know this stuff, like what is the difference between coupe/z06, suspension, etc... That's why we bought a z06 and not a coupe.

I have no problem helping people out if we can have an open forum for our own stuff, we are a like minded group so we tend to stick together in our small numbers. If I'm expected to post all my stuff in C5 general and only answer Z06 specific questions all day in here, I'll merely keep my knowledge to myself, as I'm sure many members will also, thus making this forum area uneeded.

So am I to understand that these are the only questions and posts allowed?

Z06 stock rims and tires, Z06 shocks, springs, and sway bars, 243 heads and z06 cam and springs, any powdercoated red caliper questions, brake cooling ducts, and titanium exhaust, and changing base seats with z06 embroidery. Wow that would be a really sweet area of the forum to hang out in.

Especially since MANY z06 owners are performance minded and have changed out just about everything in the above section, I personally will have nothing left up there a year from now.

This seems like an eviction notice to me, for our more seasoned Z06 owners.

I am fairly new so I have no idea how it once was. I plug into this thread because it is listed as C5-Z06, which is what I own. I come here to try to learn more about my car from those of you that have had them longer and know more about them. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I enjoy the pics as a way for me to see what everyone is talking about.
I am not arguing, but I guess I dont understand what the thread starter is wanting it to be.

I fully agree with all of these posts. We're all Z06 owners and we're just here to talk about Z06's. I never took this forum as a "Z06 Tech specific" forum...it was always the "Z06 owners club" forum to me.

I agree, and I talked to the mod of this forum today. I started a thread today because I just installed newly painted z06 rims, and some friends stopped by with a 996 turbo, gt3 and a c4s.
Of course I took pictures of all the cars together and my thread got moved to off topic.
It is my understanding that they are just trying to clean up the forum,

 

I cant believe your thread got moved what the hell was wrong with it, I think a picture of a Z06 (no matter what other cars its parked with) certainly belongs in the C5 Z06 section??????

Of the 16 threads that to moved Sunday, several of them were ZO6 specific. Who really cares if we don't want to post in the general section? What's it's going to hurt by having what used to be a ZO6 specific forum area? I thought it was kinda cool to have a ZO6 only section. Now we're only supposed to come in here to answer newbie ZO6 owner questions? Come on guys - it just doesn't make any sense.

 

I think right now, at least from what I have noticed is there is some over moderation going on and it's not just in the Z06 forum.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
