500 is the number Ive paid. I have heard cheaper, around 350-400 but nothing cheaper then that... and that was a group rate.

I was just quoted $400 for an engine with just bolt-ons and $500 for an engine with heads/cam, etc.

I agree also, but sadly, that's about the going rate for LS1 vehicles. More expensive software to pay for. If it's any consolation, I paid Slowhawk $750 for my tune, but he spend a few days dialing in the 2 bar Speed Density tune too.

For a bolt on car with just intake and exhaust work, I would actually venture to say that a full dyno tune isn't required. Granted each vehicle is going to have it's own little nuances, but conversely they're not going to differ that greatly. A mail order tune from a reputable tuner would probably get you close enough to call good on the first try. I'm probably going to get flamed for saying that, but flame on. I've worked with a couple of very talented tuners and personally seen their mail order tunes not need anything changed when strapped down on the dyno.

May need to wait for a bit due to the Christmas $$ drain

Did you feel the tune was worthwhile for a street DD ?

I was getting "other" work done on my car so I asked the shop manager if he could give me a break on the dyno tune, he took $100.00 off. Paid $350.00

I'd say most shops could work with you on the price. Just say you'll go to one of their competitors. That will **** 'em off.

From the experiences that I have had it was $400 for the intitial start...(to register your VIN number with a program?) then soemthing like $150 per hour of dyno time. All future visits to that tuner no longer had to pay the registartion fee since it was already done, just for the dyno time, and if you bought more dyno time, in bulk blocks they give a discount. Just my experience.

These are the going rates in the Central Ohio Area

FULL TUNES
A full tune consists of Part Throttle Street Driving and WOT Tuning on a dyno when needed.

YEAR VEHICLE PRICES START AT
1998 - 2002 Camaro & Firebird LS1 $300.00
1998 - 2004 Corvette LS1 / LS6 $350.00
2004 GTO LS1 $300.00
2003 - 2004 SSR 5.3L $350.00
2004 - 2005 Cadillac CTS-V LS6 $350.00
NOTE: Most Full Tunes have the following tables adjusted when needed: Idle, Rev Limiter, Spark Advance, Main VE, MAF, IFR, Shift Points, Shift Firmness, TCC, CAGS, Torque Management, Rear Gear, Fans, Misfires, 02, EGR, AIR, & WOT PE.

ATTN - If you require to have your car dyno tuned (most cars do), it will be an additional $100 per hour to the prices above to cover dyno time. On average, only 1 to 1.50 hours of dyno time is needed. This will include the use of a Wideband O2 sensor along with a printed dyno graph showing HP, TQ, AFR.

BASIC TUNES

Rear O2, AIR & EGR Codes Delete $40.00
Injector Change $30.00
Lower Fan Temps $25.00
Rear Gear Change $25.00
Remove CAGS $25.00
Auto Tranny Adjustments $40.00
Upgrade to 2001 or 2002 OS $50.00

If you need more than one of the above, take the following discount:

- 2 Items, $10.00 Off of total

- 3 Items, $20.00 off of total

- 4 or more Items, $30.00 off of total
