Default Blackout Panel for a Targa Top

I found two products to use for blocking the sun when using a targa top and was wondering if anyone has tried them. One is a Vinyl covering that is held on by static cling, the other is a panel that is covered in a headliner material and just snaps in place. They are sold by Mid America Motorworks.

I just bought the car and it only has the targa top. I'm a little worried about the heat while parked in the summer time. The car was traded to a dealer and I don't know the owner, but I ran the codes and the car left the factory with a regular hardtop. The dealer is going to help me see if the orginal top is still around, I hope to end up with it.

The original owner may have been a member of the flying roof club, I don't know yet.

Do any other companies make anything to place inside the targa top?

Bot the panel with the headliner material a few years ago from Mid-Am and it works very well but leaves 1/8 inch gap around the outside. I think they charge too much but not much of an alternative outside of painting the top.

I use the Mid America snap in one in the summer. Works great. Temps here get to be 115+ in the summer. Makes a big difference.

Same thing happened to me, I was considering the options you mentioned but wound up finding a never installed painted top with only a 2.5 inch very thin scratch for $300 in the parts section here.
