Default The 2009, $100,00 VETTE

2009 Chevrolet Corvette
What's new: The most powerful Corvette ever will be offered in 2009 when the limited edition Corvette ZR1 debuts packing a 620-hp engine. The gauge can hit 220 mph. and it is expected to fetch a price around $100,000. There also is an all-new LS3 6.2-liter V-8 engine for the coupe and convertible with 430 hp and 424 lb.-ft. of torque, or 436 hp and 428 lb.-ft. with a new, optional dual-mode exhaust system. The 2008 Corvette also gets improved manual transmission shift effort and quicker shift times on the paddle-shift, six-speed automatic, and improved steering feel. Split-spoke cast aluminum wheel design for the coupe and convertible are now standard, along with an available polished forged aluminum wheel design. The keyless access remote key fob with integrated key is new and there are interior trim enhancements on all models, including a wrapped center trim plate with Cyber pattern and new, brushed aluminum accents, and new door sill plates. And an iPod/MP3 is jack included on all sound systems except navigation. A personal audio link is available as an accessory for the navigation system

Key features: The rear-wheel drive Corvette is offered in two packages -- base and ZO6. Two engines are available, the 6.2-liter V-8 with 430 hp and the 7-liter V-8 with 505 hp. Transmission choices are a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Standard equipment on all models now includes OnStar, XM Satellite Radio, auto-dimming mirrors with compass, and an audio input jack on all radio systems except those equipped with navigation.

Check it out: Two new premium exterior colors are available for 2008: jetstream blue metallic tintcoat and crystal red metallic tintcoat. The ZR1 features a window embedded in the hood to admire the supercharged, hand-built engine.

Good luck getting a ZR1 for $100,000. Dealers will have a field day with the markup.

hmmmm...I think you could take a c6 and get 620 horse out of it for a hell of a lot less then 100k, probably only 45-50k.
