Ripper Shifter **** removal

I've got a B&M Ripper on my 02Z.I bought it that way.

I wanted to replace the **** with a new delrin ****,but the old **** screws off easy for about 4 turns,then tightens.

Is there a trick about taking it off? I'm prone to use "excessive force"
on stuff,so I'm being careful not to break it.

Any tips?

There's probably a small allen set screw at the base somewhere...hopefully you haven't damaged any of the 9/16-18 threads...

I have the same set up. Spins right off after removing that top key. Does yours rattle under semi-heavy to heavy acceleration? Mine does and it drives me absolutely crazy!!
