It'd be easier to sell your A4 and buy a MN6.

Looked into it myself, but other way around for me (MN6 to A4). Had another guy with the A4 already to change over. He eventually backed out. Both cars done at the same time in the same shop. Cost was going to be around $4k each not including some extra parts (if desired). Found it would be easier to just go start with the right tansmission. I will be looking for an A4 this spring.

Got to go with the others - sell yours and buy one that is already a manual.

Sounds like HawkIVette and Bad should just trade cars directly since both want what the other has.

How long have you owned your 'Vette?

Why are you wanting to change?

The cost depends on what you want and whether or not you can do the work yourself.

I have a 2001 that I converted from an auto to stick over the summer. Not overly difficult, just time consuming and lots of little detail work.

Cost for parts varies on the degree of abuse or power that you make. A stock drive train can be had for about $3K, plus you'll need a rear differential and clutch set-up. Also needed are pedals, switches, tranny wire harness and a reflash of the computer.

well the reason why i want to have a manual varies. i want it now because i dont have one. but i should just get like a camaro or ta thats a 6 speed to get the "i want to slam threw gears" bug out of me. but if i traded it out then i would be like man i wish i had an auto, when im in traffic. which i happen to do quite some time here in nor cal.

I did the conversion, but my vette is not my daily driver. Not sure i would want to drive a stick in everyday traffic where I live.

I have an A4, and thought about having it converted to a MN6. I bought the vette before I knew how to drive a stick. I'm reluctant to trade because I already have so many other mods sunk into my vette as it is: supercharger, cam, a-pillar gages, HID headlights, halo led taillights, complete vette essentials interior, ipod2car, LT headers, high flow cats, and Corsa cat-back, wheels, tires, brakes, tunnel plate, swaybars, MCM carbon fiber hood, etc.
