My 2001 only has 14,000 miles on it and the only problem is the leaking rear end, not bad enough to fix at this time. Never trade my C5 on a C6, style just isn't there.
Bought my 2001 in Feb 2001 and have had to replace the rear end seals on the drivers side output shaft twice. The second replacement used seals designed to fix this problem and it has. I have driven it 20k miles since the fix with no leaks. Both repairs were done under warranty at no cost to me. My gas guage has gone south twice but I found that if I put approx 8oz of two-stroke oil in my gas tank, the problem goes away. I now add the oil approx every three or four fill ups and the problem has not recurred. Other than that, I have not had any problems and my car does not use oil at all.
