Bustin my CHERRY!!!
I'm also expecting to at least be somewhere in the 12's. Here are the mods: Long Tube Headers, No Cats, X-pipe, and a Tune. Everything else is stock right down to the 2:73 rear end. What do ya think 12's or low 13's since its my first time?
I should be back around 8:30 tonight and will post some times. Again, wish me luck, I've ridden in my buddies car a couple of times and that all wheel drive is a killer.
I'm more nervous though about hurting the car. I keep having this vision of me going into the wall, and that would blow. I plan on doing at least the first run with traction control on just to see how the car reacts.
Ever since the Tune the car has been completely different. Just the other day I went to get around some traffic and this guy that looked like he was driving on crack, so I moved to the other lane and went WOT to get away and the tires broke lose while I was doing 35! I didn't think I would be able to spin the tires like that. From a stop sure but from 35?
So hopefully I can react quick enough and get off the gas if I don't like the way things are going.

Good luck
I have made the fatal mistake ( at the sanctioned track ) of stomping it with trac off and a GTO got me, so if I was in competetive mode would I have gotten better out of the hole results ? Please advise.

Only did two cause the girlfriend had to get home and get ready for bed. Early day in the morning and all. Here are the times; Competition Mode Selected for both races. And using Nitto 555 street tires. No burn outs at start. Never really did one before and didn't want to make a blank out of myself.
Race #1
3000GT Left-------02 Coupe (me) Right
R/T----.029-------.808
60'-----1.827-------2.113
330----5.290-------5.681
1/8----8.229-------8.567
MPH----84.18-------86.38
1000---10.739------11.004
1/4-----12.856------13.081
MPH----105.54------105.94
In that first race I really feel asleep at the light. I was so worked up and nervous it was hilarious. But then once I woke up and started moving it felt better. The active handling kick on once somewhere down the track after one of the shifts but then went out and I actually felt pretty good at the end. His car was not pulling on me any more but I couldn't really catch him.
In the second race I don't know what happened. Almost from the start the active handling was on/off, on/off, and on/off. My start was better than the first but the rest was worse.
In this one I didn't get to race my friend cause it was just to busy for us to line up together and I didn't want to **** anyone off my first time out. So I got to race a really nice older (60's) Camaro but something happened to him a little ways down the track and he just coasted to the end.
Camaro Left-------Me Right
R/T----.618------.273
60'-----1.987------2.127
330----5.607------5.725
1/8----9.015-------8.740
MPH---63.71------82.34
1000---12.802-----11.257
1/4----16.484-----13.353
MPH----56.86------107.14
All in all I had a BLAST and got out a lot of that needing to go fast feeling. Heading down that track for the first time at WOT like that was something else. A real eye opener. Lots of nice folks at the track, everybody (import and domestic) were all there to have a great time. No egos. It was nice. In the end I've learned that with stickier tires and better driving abilities, I think I have a pretty decent runner.
My girlfriend video taped my "races"
so I'll upload them tomorrow so everyone can get a good chuckle.P.S. Notice he wasn't really running mid 12's like he told me would either. Its all good though.

Have you ever heard the expression "playing down to the competition." Well that explains your second pass. 9/10 you always will go a little faster if you are pressing to keep someone off or if you are chasing someone.
Just keep dialing in your driving and give your friend in the 3000 another run. And I agree, even converting to the stock optional 3:15 rear end would make a significant difference in your times.
Fun thread, thanks.
