I just imported an '03 Z06. The only think you have to change is the rear bumper shock absorber. It's the foam piece behind the bumper cover. The Canadian version is much denser. The part cost me just under $200. You must buy it from a GM dealer and save the original receipt.
If you are interested I can give you lots of other info as well. I had mind shipped from Orlando to Montreal for $750 - very reasonable. I hired a Broker for the border clearing, well worth it. I can give you names and numbers if you need them.
Thank's Didn't know if the front bumper had to be done also. So, what's the Z like? Everything you exspected or what. I'm going to get a 04 Commemorative Edition. Had a 88 7 years ago. Have to get another one.
2003 and 2004's only need rear bumper mods.'05 and newer require both. I have imported 2 cars to canada, the latest being an '02 Z06 . I did not use a broker to handle the border, it is really quite easy and i don't think it is worth spending $$$ on. The biggest thing you have to do is that make sure US customs has the title (original) 72 hrs. before you bring the car across. Any other questions, let me know.

I love it. I only got to drive it a few times before parking it for the winter but that was enough to get a good feel for it. It makes my '95 Coupe feel like a family sedan. Performance is way better than I expected in all areas - braking, acceleration, handling, sound, ride quality, etc. Just an all around awesome car. Can't wait for spring!

Atok, that is one sweet looking vette, and thank you for contributing to this thread with your helpful information to the original poster
When I bought my 2002 Z06 I did not have to change anything to make it legal in Canada. If you plan to imported your self make sure you know the whole process because it can be time consuming.
Actually, they don't need any modifications. The replacement pieces that went on are actually the same as the american pieces. I had the parts guys at a few Chevy dealerships in Calgary tell me that and advise me to go to GM and get a notice excusing the car from needing the modifications.
I just imported a 2004 Z06 from Cali, everything went smoothly as hell and it's now sitting in the garage with Alberta plates waiting for the snow to disappear.

Wrong. The Canadian part is different including the part number. If you take your car to be inspected at Canadian Tire, and they check the part number on the absorber, you'll fail and never get it legalized. For $200 it's better to be safe IMO.
