Hello C5 people. I can most often be found in the C4 section as I own a 96 vert (correct color red/blk) with 43,000 miles. I am currently looking at a 2000 yellow/blk vert with approximately 78,000 miles. It is a 6 speed and fully loaded. The owner is retired military who had a stroke and cannot drive it anymore. Any issues that you C5 people can think of on a car with that milage that I may be overlooking? Please chime in and let me know. I believe I can get a very good deal on the car.
Fellow 2000 convertible owner here. Only 26K miles and no issues.
The two most common things to check are:
1. Column lock issue. Check to see if it already has a Column Lock Bypass or if the latest GM recall has been done.
2. Check for oil leaks at the differential seals.
The only drawback I can see is...... yellow shows bugs and such on the front during a trip like you would not believe. We had a red C4 and it did not show bugs nearly as bad (naturally). Love the color, we just wash it a lot
Thanks for the replys. I will know later in the week if this deal is going to go through, and if it does it will be a very good deal. Thanks again. My wife is not happy about it, but a deal like this is a once in a lifetime. She's kept me for 17 years and we have been through worse things, so maybe I will have to sleep in the garage for a week, life could be worse
You'll love the 2000 vert. Mine has 62k on it and still runs and drives like new. Only thing I'll say is a happy Vette owner with an unhappy wife is a Vette owner
that's driving on the wrong side of the street
