This was probably on here at some point but we seem to have a lot of C5 vs. C6 discussions and as a somewhat recent C5 owner this is one of the better comparisons I've come across. Sharing for others who might be relatively new.
I like this quote...."It's not "all new," and it's not revolutionary. It strikes me as a highly evolved C5, and, in some respects, seems like a C5 3/4".
That's exactly what a lot of folks on this forum have been saying since the C6 first debut.

I was not suprised to see that the C5 is Longer with a shorter wheelbase, The C5 is also wider and lower..
All these are probably why I like the C5s smoother apperance over the
C6.
However I do like Black C6s ALOT.
Most likely the darker colors tend to hide the body lines more than a light color.
THEREFORE If you have a Black C6 I would like to swap.
Thanks

The C5 looks beefier.
Crusing down the interstate or around town, I can instantly recognize another C5. But the newer C6's are a bit difficult to distiguish from the other new sports cars.
The C6 Vert seems to be a mini Vette, it looks tiny to me.
They are both nice, and there are good and bad about both, its just a matter of opinion. I have had 2 C5's and one C6, I would definetly take another C5. They are smooth, and flowing. nice rounded edges. The C6 is blockier and more aggresive looking. If I keep my C6 im doing a widebody.
I don't know how you did that Tricep, but good job.
I just still cannot warm up to the C6 styling. I would like to build something just in-between the two. Something between eliptical/smooth/sexy (C5) and squarish/edgy/tough (C6).
Instead, they went to just stooooooooopid and Hotwheels....ZR1.
just my dumbass opinion.....sorry I'm not blind...
IM often bothered when I hear or read that the C-6 has over 70% new parts. The truth is it doesn’t. What is never explained or discussed is that actual claim made by GM is that 70% of the part numbers are new and not necessarily the parts themselves. Daniel Pund explained in Car and Driver that they frequently go through this with part manufactures. A control arm for example may have a different part number than another but be exactly the same. The C-6 is a great car just the same but the claims that it is so different than the C-5 is over exaggerated. Pond went on to say that we will compromise and call the 2005 Corvette the “ C-5 and 11/16ths.” Just my two cents.
