Default Pulled over for exhaust...

Went out for a little drive tonight... as soon as I get out of my development there is a cop in a parking lot which I didn't see. I wasn't speeding, but I brought it up to 3 grand in first so it was singing. He didn't bother. I turned about a mile down the road and bam, theres another cop heading the opposite direction. I pass him and he pulls over, then makes a U turn. I just drove normally waiting for him to catch up, but he wasn't so I just kept cruising. About 3 miles later there is a cop pacing me on a 2 lane road. We finally catch a light and he motions for me to roll down the windows.

Him: "Dude, what kinda exhaust is that?"

Me: "Granatelli"

Him: "That sounds ****in sweet, I've been following you for a while and I could hear it a ways back."

Me: "You got a minute"

Him: "No... well, yeah..."

light turns green and I start to follow him. He pulls into an exhaust shop parking lot and I follow. We both get out of our cars.

Him: That sounds f****n awesome. I've got a 99 and I've been lookin at the Borla Stinger and the Billy Boat Bulletts."

I then went on to tell him that I was lookin at the B&B as well, but I figured since it was my DD I would pick something "slightly" quieter. I then told him where I got it from etc. He said alright I gg on a call... Then the magic words...

"Go ahead and take off!"

Don't have to tell me twice... turned off the TC and let her rip, it was pretty cold so it spun all through first, second, and halfway through third where I let off. He catches up and had a big smile on his face and goes "That sounds f***** awesome!"

haha, really made my night. Wonder if he is a member on here, seemed like a really cool guy. Ok, off to the bar...

That's very cool. I wish a cop would tell me to "take off"!

I have the Granatelli Exhaust as well. It is pretty loud. Nice sounding exhaust. I keep waiting to get pulled over, but not in the way you just posted . Too coming across a cop like that.

That's not the kind of story I thought I was going to read when I clicked on this thread.

I got a thumbs up from a LEO as I drove past him and his Radar Gun, yes I was about 15 over. On the way to work.

I've never been pulled over for my exhaust but with LG Pros, Hi Flows and Borla's I would only hope to have a similar experience.

When I lived in Los Angeles, Marina Del Rey, same thing happened twice, once with a CHP in a cruiser that gave me a thumbs up, asked me what I had under the hood, then he said over his loud speaker " try not to speed in that thing...seriously, try not to" then he gave me a thumbs up and burned his tires. Then one night I was driving down Lincoln, coming from Baja Cantina to Brennans, when a bike cop pulled me over, he asked me a ton of questions about the car, then said "I pulled ya over because this damned thing sounded like a pack of Harleys coming down the strip." "It sounds good, but I should give you a ticket for no front plate." he then said..."aw **** it, enjoy the night"

Cool CHP's in So Cal are not common folk...and I met two.
