I got my check engine light on today. The car seems to be running no different. What buttons on the right do I push to see what the code is?I think I remember you can do that on my 2000 corvette I had but not on my 05.Can you check them with the zo6?car is bone stock but has 53k 2002.Anyone know any common codes that might come up for the engine light?
Thanks.I got two codes on 10-pcm which are po175 and po172.Is there spot on this site to look up codes.I also had a few in the history that I was curious to see what they were. (ao-ldcm) b2282 and u1064
Not on this site, but here are all the PCM codes for your 2000...including the service manual troubleshooting procedure.
Those codes are saying that the front O2 sensors on both sides are detecting a rich condition. Did you change anything recently or run through a deep puddle?
Ok,sweet I got it.It says fuel trim system rich bank.Whats that all about??? The one in my history says for ao-ldcm u1064,loss of communications with BCM,whats that.It was in the history but I was curious anyways.I cleared off check engine light from the fuel trim code.Anyone else hit that code and with the rich bank and if so is it something to worry about? I was thinking of having my car tuned,is that code something that can be fixed by tuning???
No,its bone stock,I just got it last week and everything was fine till now.Its running the same.Would tuning fix that. Its got a 2 year warranty, but I dont feel like paying the deductable if its something that commonly comes up.
Don't worry about BCM (Body Control Module) codes unless you have some symptom. It could have just been some transitory issue and, in any event, can't cause a CEL.
Bank 1 = driver side; bank 2 = passenger side
sensor 1/2 = front/rear respectively
A tune could "fix" the problem, but it would be better to see if there is a root cause first, and fix that. For example, soaking the O2 sensors (thus my earlier question) or a dirty air filter can cause you to run rich on both sides.
