For my driving around here, I prefer the manual and that's what I bought. But if I lived in an area that had a real traffic problem, I'd seriously consider the automatic.

Maybe his interest in what "most people" want lies in his resale plans?

Just a thought ...

Manual. Even my wife can't help but smile going around the bends watching me gear through...

Those who prefer a manual will not want an automatic, and those who prefer an automatic will not want a manual. It all comes down to personal preference, with a little of what the car is used for thrown in. If you are commuting in L.A. a stick is a poor choice, for track days at Willow Springs an automatic may not be the ideal choice.

But, when new, automatic Corvettes consistantly outsell manuals at a ratio of 70%-30%. So therein lies the answer to your question.

I don't care what it's going to be used for: Daily driving, dragstrip, track days. It's gotta be a schtick!

I have a 2001 A4 vert... I love it, I would love it more with a manual for sure. Here in Canada vettes are not that plentiful and if I waited for a manual vert, I would still be waiting. There are some days where traffic is bad or at the border I waited 4 hours of crawling... That day I was glad to
have the auto. But given the choice it would be the manual all the way....
