Why not?....sounds like fun as long as its not in serious weather and I wouldn't keep high concerns on the paint..
Call me crazy, but there are a lot of people who treat their Corvette's as if they were something more rare and exotic that shouldn't be used as daily drivers in all weather conditions. In a matter of years the C5's will be in the same price range as C4's. Drive the car, enjoy it, seesh, it's not an investment and never will be.
A set of decent all-season tires is much cheaper than another car.

It's called salt and antiskid....go out when nobody else is around, less chance of getting "blasted"..but follow daily traffic like you got a truck and expect more than just touch-up work
