Its in the bottom of the first pic and to the right on the second. The arrow is pointing to the month and the "0" means the year 2000. Sp they were made in apr of 2000.

Default Not originals?

Well since my car was on the line Jan 4th of 1999 and the sensors were built April of 1999 Can I assume those are not the original sensors.

How long can those sensors sit in a part box in a dealer part room before being sold? I am hoping a long time

Batteries have a limited shelf life. Power cells (batteries) will go dead sitting in a drawer, never installed in anything.

Lithium cells (batteries) used in our sensors have a long shelf life, but TEN years is stretching it even for lithium.

P.S. I have the originals in my 2000 AND my cousin the same in his 1999 - all still working so far.

Here's a question for the informed masses: Is it possible to program the car's computer to turn the sensor function off?

I replaced all 4 on my '98. ($130 a pop) Abeit, it is nice to see if you have a low tire pressure issue, however are they really "necessary"? It is my belief that the sensors were intended for the run flats AND as an additional safety measure/convience. One I might add that I like. But, what's wrong with saving a few bucks and checking tire pressure once a week; like in the "old" days...?

BTW: TPM's will be mandatory on all cars made in the next year or two.
