Default Need Help With Xenon

I purchased a low beam 6000K xenon conversion kit on my 2003 Z06 from eBay member nissangtrpower. He said that several Corvette Forum members had purchased and installed his kit. Well, after installing the kit, when I turn on my headlights I must rotate the swith twice before they come on. Also, I can not get any radio reception when the lights are on. His tech rep said to run a wire to ground from the black wire in the incoming power connector. I did this with no results. Anyone have a similar problem or a solution for this problem.

Thanks

I would suggest returning them..... I purchased a set from supporting vendor NTRBL33 and they function flawlessly, you can find his post in the C5 parts section.

I know that nissangtrpower has a perfect rating on ebay and is supposed to be very customer service friendly. Maybe give him a chance to swap the kit for you or something. There are a bunch of guys on the Hummer forums that have dealt with him (nissangtrpower) and are nothing but satisfied.

There are tons of posts on C5 General about these issues.
All the problems seem to be traced to low voltage/amperage at the HID start up.
The easiest solution I found to many of these problems is to install a dedicated wiring harness for the HIDs so that they are only switched from the OEM harness but draw their power directly from the battery through a relay.

Such a harness can easily be found on ebay for around $30 and solved all my issues.

Any chance you can post a couple of pictures of the installation, and/or a wiring diagram??

Thanks.

If you mean the HID install. here is the best overall post I have seen is

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1906626

It includes a wiring diagram for a dual wiring harness that would handle the low beam HIDs and the fog light HIDs. No need for a wiring harness for your OEM High Beams as your not changing anything there
