I found that after 18 months the tires lost alot of grip no matter how much tread was left. So I would say you will definately notice a difference if you replace your rubber.
Me thinks I need to replace the tires before Spring.
Probably going with the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's - they seem to rate well here.

From the sounds of it you don't race or drive all that hard. So unless they are starting to crack, or the tread is getting to the point that driving in the rain is dangerous, I would keep the ones you have. Unless you have some free cash then for sure replace them.

The F1's were scary after 18K. My new Goodyear F1 GS-D3's are very predictable....drove it Sunday in 15 degree but sunny weather and they were great. The traction control reminded me they were cold but the car was very sure footed.

Yes it was a good excuse ......I drove Mid Ohio with the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's and was extremely happy with them there as well. A very well rounded tire in my opinion
Look between the treads and see if you see any cracks.Tire Rubber can dry out just like the rubber around the doors.
I would replace them.Keep in mind that the tires are THE most important
parts of the car.All the power, braking & handling is transfered from the car to the road, via the tires.
Thanks - they look good w/no visible age cracks. However - I strongly agree with you on the importance of good tires.
I think I am good for about 4-5k more threadlife( total of bout 20K miles for the oem Goodyear) - and will replace sooner if necessary.
