I'm looking at 3.42 rear diff to upgrade my 2.73 auto coup. I was going to due a new torque converter while I'm there. What stall should I look for and were is a good place to purchase. Right now I have LG long tube headers, high flow cats, Borla exhaust, BBK intake manifold and throttle body. Might due heads and cam later or supercharge.
Most will say a Yank 3200. That is what I have, and it is super in every way. No slip, and snappy. Certainly a good choice if you get a 224 cam.
If you are going to get a donkey d1ck cam, get a higher stall converter.
Found a used diff and talked to the folks at Yank converters and bought a SS3200. They said it would be good with my current setup and future HP plans. Thanks for all the help.

That would all depend on what you want it to feel like.
Do you want it for drag strip use or a DD
If a DD id say 2800-3200 maybe Also depends on the type of converter as well. You will also be in need of a tranny cooler setup.
no cooler highest temp seen was in stop and go traffic last summer 95 degree weather gauge hit 207. not a daily driver but out for ride 3days a week. launches real nice 1.64 60ft and will get better when driver gets some more seat time
