Yeah that accident happened last night, after those teens left a kegger party. Guess it won't be too difficult to figure out what caused it. Five teens drunk after a party, sneeking onto a private airstrip to see how fast the BMW could go. The driver was known for having high performance cars through high school.
Shame. Some times kids make bad decisions. Some times they don't survive. They ran a complete runway, up over the end of the run embankment and flew a couple hundred feet to a set of trees. That's where they impacted. Est 160 mph.
LOL @ the BMW story. Come on, common sense says that on a runway that wide, you lose your sense of speed and wont be able to judge the braking distance. Oh well, darwin at work. Even my friends arent that stupid.
And as for the guy claiming we're taking on the "holier than you" attitude, thats not the case here, because I speak from personal experience that having the speedo well into 3 digits is EXTREMELY stupid if you aren't on a track
Ill do 160+mph when and where ever I want. If I choose the highway then it will be the highway.
Darwin awaits you, sir.
All of you old waxers stay out of my thread...
Ha! I'm 36.... and I never wax!
Seriously, it's just wiser to take it to the track. Not only are there no innocents to put in danger, but there are safety crews and emergency response people on scene, and if something were to go wrong most roadcourses have good run-off so that you don't end up in a tree or worse.
Sure thing, though, go ahead and go as fast as you want.
But if he hits something at 160+ MPH he will be taking himself out as well. To the OP, us "old waxers" are trying to impress upon you the importance of being "responsible". It is clearly irresponsible to drive 160+ MPH on a public roadway. Us "old waxers" are not the problem........

Well put. All I can hope is that if you in fact do decide to try this on a public highway, that there are a bunch of LEOs just waiting for you to go by and that no one gets injured or killed by your actions. And that is no joke.
Now if you want an answer to what tires to put on the car for good performance driving, try the Michelins or the Goodyear GS-D3s.
