Default Radiator shroud help!

I am currently rebuilding a 98 with a Maggie. (front end damage) I had to replace the radiator so i upgraded to a BeCool. Its a beaut! But, its much thicker. This could be my problem lining up the top support to the rad shroud or front intake tunnel. None of the Manuels, Lingenfelter or GM show a good detail on how the upper radiator support meets or attaches to the radiator shroud??? Does anyone have pics? The manuel (GM) says "Tuck the outboard corners of the lower cooling baffle under the support until it locks into place". I cant see how the shape of these two pieces can lock together.HHHHELP! Bob

I did this yesterday. I laid the top piece in place, aligned it at the back of the radiator, then found that the shroud piece was low in relation to the cast rib in the radiator top. When you come around the front of the car and look up where the two meet you can better see how they fit. The rad support folded lip literally just sits under the lip of the top piece and is supported by the rib. The two side corners can be slipped into place before or after. When it's right, the top piece will come all the way down and you can put the bolts in without having to pull down on the ears.

Sorry that prob doesn't make much sense... but hopefully it helps.

Thanks Bob, I was out there all day and finally got the thing to sit down as you said. The top of the shroud still dosent please me but I think thats it. The Maggie uses a different intake, thats my next hurdle. Because i think the thicker radiator is pushing the shroud forward.

I can see the thicker radiator creating a tight fit. Good luck and I'm envious of the maggie... ;-)
