Anyone ACTUALLY use a 2000 Keyfob on a 97-99 Corvette?

There have been discussions on this, although usually going the other way ( updating a 1997-2000 to use the cheaper new TPSs) and general understanding is that the TPSs would not report to the BCM correctly and you can't re-program the BCM. Just like you can't turn off TPS System on 1997-2000 C5s, but can on 2001 and later (due to Z06 coming out without TPSs, they needed to turn off the system).

I have read from sources other than this forum that they are interchangeable. I tend to believe that they will work. The 97-99’s have the passive switch on the remote, 2000 does not, otherwise the lock – unlock buttons should function.
Here is the reason – The tire sensors AND the fob remote use the same receiver ON THE CAR for 1997 thru 2000. In 2001 the tire pressure sensors changed, the remote changed AND so did the ON CAR receiver.
