That's because C5 kids are soooo much cooler than C6 kids. We take our extra money out to party rather than sit at home eating raman noodles in front of the computer.

Except for the 228 of us still here. We're still losers.

You guys keep me going and when i am bored and there is always something new to learn by surfing the CF. I had a chance to get a C6 and while driving one I seen a C5 and still craved to own a C5. On the other hand when driving the C5 I seen C6's waved and felt I have the better of the two. I hope C7 have a change worth saying it is a Vette. I mean I really don't see much better than what we have..............

Not to worry. I am a member of several car forums and the reason I joined them all was to learn about the car or help figure out problems with it. I am on forums with cars I don't even own. Don't read into it at all. Before I bought my 99, there were many years of Vettes I would have never owned. But I have always loved Vettes and I will take that brown 74 off your hands yesterday. I could not say that years ago. A Vette is still the best bang for the buck in whatever period it was made. I have learned that since becoming an owner 2 years ago. A Vette is still better than no Vette at all. There is nothing wrong with the C6 or the C4. Compare apples with apples and all Vettes are king. The C6 is a great machine and really took off where the C5 started. The C4 is really the best bargain out there. Which leaves the C5 as the "middle child". But this is not the Brady Bunch and Jan only wished she had what the Vette middle child had to offer. Instead of harping amongst ourselves we should just rest on the fact that a used C4 is still better than a new 350Z or RX-8.

but they're still deep into "floor mats"... and we've matured past that. Subtract-out the C6 Floor Mat posts - and it's a dead section .

I sold my first C5 and was away for two years. I still visited the Forum several times a week and always looked in the C5 for sale. I bought my second C5 from a Forum member in September 2007. I'll be here for a while.

Default Numbers Going Down...

Don't worry - It's all a part of the master plan! Going Steath like a "Sleeper" muscle car. Then coming to back life at the last nano-second before they realize it's too late!!! Then the C-5 will rule the Barrett-Jackson world (Ha, Ha)....

I think it is somewhat of a natural progression... I mostly hang here since I won't be moving to a C6 anytiime soon and I still love my C5. You have to remember though that people jump all around during the day so just taking a snapshot of 1000 people on C6 and 228 on C5 is just at that time. I think you'd have to look at several weeks and average out to really find out where the traffic is.

A non scientific observation seems to show in my area, there are not as many C6's cruising around as there are C5's. I still see by far more C5's than C6's. No idea why.... maybe there are just not the total numbers out there yet.

I too have also noticed the C5 General doesn't seem to have as much activity as it used to a year or so ago. Same posts seem to stick around for a lot longer before falling by the way-side by being replaced with new C5 posts.

And, finally, I find myself spending far less time on the forum than I used to. I read the stuff that interests me, but skip a LOT of posts that I one time I would have stopped to read.

By far, the EG posts were a favorite hit. Like waiting for a new release of the next in a series of great books!

Now, I've depressed myself - so maybe next step is to look for a 'luxury performace' car. There are some really nice cars out there.

Pray for Spring.......maybe things will revert to continue interest in my C5. I still maintain it has the best design lines of any vette ever made.

What are you worried about? There are plenty of C5 owners out there. The forum isn't going away.

There is a lack of new topics here and new replies to open posts are coming slow.

I find myself going over to C6 general every week to read something new.

That being said, I am not leaving C5 for a long time.

Very well put. I 'm with you I Love all vettes I don't care what year, what color, with mods, without mods. I'm just glad I get it. A Vette is a Vette and part of a much bigger picture than the year or model you drive.

I'm here for a while in C5. Just consider myself lucky that I can even afford my Y2K Coupe.
