Default adding 12 disk changer to 2004

I have a bose am/fm/cd radio in my car. I want to put a 12 disk factory changer in. I am told that the car is prewired with plugs at the rear compartment. Can anyone tell me where I might find these plugs? Also is there anything else I should know about when I put this in? Thanks Geno4:o

Search this forum (in the red banner) in C5 Tech will lead you to anything that's ever been asked/answered related to a C5/Z06...pay special attention to the last post by Patches.

CF member Patches write up is what most of us have used for the same installation. I just used it to install an oem PIONEER 12 disc CD player in my car.
If you need information on where to find brackets, harness, cartridges or even a CD changer, let me know. I found a source, but they're not a site supporting vendor.

My changer is in the middle compartment if that helps.

WOW; who told you that ???

there's only a harness in the rear - if the car came from the factory with the changer orderded as an option.

You'll have to buy the harness and run it through the car. The connections are in the passenger footwell in the right lower corner. There are two plugs, one three prong and the other four prong.

Why not consider an I Pod install rather than the changer? It probably would be cheaper and easier as well as giving you much more flexibility. There are lots of threads on this install as well.

Everything I see on here lately is to put in the I Pod. If you do have the connections maybe the changer would be easier. Should be in the bottom of the middle compartment in the trunk if you have them. Mine came with the changer in the trunk and still working so I use it all the time. Good luck

they ain't "there" unless the car was ordered from the factory with the changer option (unless someone added them after the car was sold; or removed the changer and then resold the car).
