We take several trips each year and when my battery had to be replaced recently I bought the best battery that WalMart had. I bought the WMart battery because every where you go what do you see? My father just replaced his WalMart battery that was 9 years 10 months old.
You'll get a 10000 different opionions on this subject, it's been debated to death here...so I'll start it off Excide Orbital (spiral cell) not cheap but imo an excellent battery. Several friends of mine had orbital redtops that failed and switched to the Excide battery and are very happy with it. I got mine last year and trouble free, even with 1200 watts of stereo pulling through it.

Been very happy with my Exide. Got if from NAPA (although they didn't know it was an Exide battery - it just says "Orbital") for around $108 a year ago.
As much as I like the Exide Orbital and the new one from Sears, I'll replace mine with another Delco for the simple reason that if I have any issues regarding damage from the battery, repairs should be covered by my GMPP extyended service plan. I would think using an aftermarket battery would complicate the issue regarding repairs covered under either the extended warranty or the original factory warranty.

I've been using Delco batteries for many years. I've never had a problem with them, and they seem to last a long time. I had one go for ten years, ten months.
