I am looking at possibly new wheels/tires, and if I get new tires I will probably go with non-runflats. There are threads every day about the pros and cons, and I just thought of the fact that I have GMPP on my vette. Worst case scenario, don't they have to tow your car for you? Has anyone used road side assistance from them and had it covered/not covered? I'd still get a repair kit/compressor. Can they give you a hard time because you switched to non-runflat tires?
Just curious for now.
Thanks.
Do you have any deadspots where you drive where your cell phone has no signal? (I do), do you really want a tow truck driver trying to tow your baby (I don't), do you drive only close enough to a large city to have a dependable towing service available quickly (I don't). Therefore, I stuck with the runflats, and I bought a kit from Fleabay that has a small compressor, plug kit, etc. just in case. With the DIC, TPS, and runflats I should never need to plug a tire on the road, but you never know when you will wake up on vacation with a low tire and need to add air and/or plug a tire. Gas stations around here are no longer a dependable source of air (two locally have signs up that their compressor is broken) and I wouldn't want to rely on any better odds in a pinch on the road. Waiting for a tow truck for air and or a plug could take hours depending on where you are. Good luck whatever you do!

I have planned on getting a compressor/plug kit when I go to non runflats, but what you say makes sense about having one regardless of tire selection.
My original question was referring to a problem that can't be taken care of on the side of the road.
And I definitely agree with you, I hope to never need a tow.
The GMPP is like having AAA though.
