Default My headliner is soaked! Ack!

So I've had my 02 for not quite two weeks now. Love the car, it's awesome!

Today, however, the heavy rains set in. Everything was fine for about a half hour, then I felt a drip drip drip on my leg. I look up, and the headliner is dripping. Oh, that's not good, right?

So the leak is weird. The water is not coming in between the window and the seal, that was dry. It's on the other side, molding to body contact somewhere. The carpet isn't wet near my feet, so the water hadn't come in in the front, probably, because it hasn't migrated down to the floor carpet yet.

Searching the threads, I'm thinking it's probably a seal problem in the rear of the molding at the molding/body panel interface. Sound about right? I'll pull the molding off this weekend, and check the seals.

Do you guys have any suggestions on what else I need to check/seal while I'm there? It seems to only be happening on the driver side. Pictorials would be helpful here, I haven't gotten my FSM's yet. If I'm going to buy new parts, I need to do that today. The parts departments around here hate to be open on weekends. So what should I be replacing flat out?

Thanks!!

Here's a link to an old thread that was pretty helpful. Mine started to leak last spring after a heavy storm. I had water EVERYWHERE!!! A, B pillar you name it. Although half of jersey had water everywhere too.

Post #61 was the route I went. The strip caulk was pretty cheap and it solved the issue pretty well on my driverside. I haven't gotten around to the passenger yet but I have a garage now so I've been lazy.

Here's a recent thread about new seal part#'s if you go that way. Good luck. Its annoying as hell.

Thanks! I read most of that thread, but not the last page. Silly me, right?

Where did you find the strip caulk?

Sorry for your problem.

I only drive on sunny days so I don't know if I have a leak
