if you get your a tune by a pro tuner what happens if you have to take it in for warr. Work?
Is there a handheld product such as hypertech that is a do it yourself tune? And if so are they any good?

Well unless the warranty work deals with a PCM reset/reflash there is no danger of losing your tune, talk with your prospective tuner and express your concerns, see if they can save your tune file incase you have to go in for warranty.... most shops will work with you should this kind of situation arise.
