Just replaced my 98 Coupe with an 02 Vert last week. I did a search of several forums, and almost all posts refer to water leaking in from in front of the driver's seat. I don't think my leak is coming from that area.
It rained hard today while the C5 was parked outside. I sensed some dampness and checked. I found the floor and carpet under and behind the driver's seat pooling water. There was no apparent water in the footwell in front of the seat, nor on the passenger side. The surrounding carpet on all vertical surfaces is completely dry. The water must be running down some conduit and then out onto the floor. I think the llikely culprit for the conduit is the space between the inner and outer body panels, in the area roughly between the upper and lower seat belt mechanisms.
I don't think the water is getting in between the window and the top. I think it may be finding entry where the top is fixed to the body, I believe that is called a B pillar on coupes.
I would appreciate any suggestions you may have, other than not driving in the rain, my C5's are DD's.
this happened to my gtp when i first bought it. the water intruded through a faulty seal around the heater air inlet. check that. my 98 vette drivers side door window does not seal in the upper right corner (if facing window) and only leaks under the pressure of an automatic car wash
i get a few drops on the top left side of drivers window when facing it. the only thing i can think of is get a hose and spray down the car, have a friend sit inside and check where its coming from.
