Oh, my Gawd! I just got back from my first drive after insulating the entire inside of the car, the tunnel, everything. What a difference! If you want to talk on the phone, listen to the stereo, whatever - insulate!
I used 1/4 in foil backed insulation from Home Depot. I still have the doors to do and will probably do inside the rear wheel wells also. But if I stopped here it's dramatic. Just do it!
Oh, and for those of you who say they want to hear the engine, the pipes ... open the windows.
Appreciate the comments. I didn't take pictures as I did it. Sorry:o , so now the interior looks just like it did before. However, a search will probably show an insulation job with pics.
Just curious, have you noticed any condensation water on any of the insulation that you can see? I noticed in another thread that someone in AL had done this mod and had noticed water droplets forming on the insulation. Thanks

I haven't done the wheel wells yet, but I know there are drains in that area to be avoided. Maybe that's what the AL guy was referring to.
Glad to read your thread. I'm looking at doing mine in March sometime and have been looking to hear from someone who has done this. How do you plan to do the doors? Are you gonna use the same stuff and if so how will you apply it? I'm trying to get my ideas together so I can do all of mine at once. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Hoby

For anyone thinking about this, dont forget there is (more expensive) purpose built stuff that is astronomically more effective.
good choice of words Kale. Dampening + acoustic foam = Lexus quiet (car with a stock exhaust) My car has headers/xpipe and borla stingers. Windows up, it's about as loud as a stock coupe at cruise.

estimated weight gain from my Dynamat extreme installation was ~56lbs. (80 sq foot installed) IMO weight gain from dynamat is negligible in the big scheme of things especially compared with the weight of amps and large subwoofers.
