Default Need help: Clutch question

I have an 01 zo6 and my factory clutch just went on me. I got the ls7 clutch kit and was wondering if any other parts would need to be replaced while i'm in there?

I already have: new LS2/LS7 Flywheel, Flywheel bolts, Pressure Plate, Clutch Disk and Roller Pilot Bearing (1) GM Part # 12571611 - Flywheel (6) GM Part # 12553332 - Flywheel Bolts (1) GM Part # 24238412 - Clutch Disk and P.Plate (1) GM Part # 14061685 - Pilot Bearing.

From what i've read, I believe the slave should be replaced with the 04 zo6 slave. I'm not sure about the master though.

If the slave and the master do need to replaced does anyone know the best place to get it and how much they cost.

Thanks for the help in advance!

You should replace the slave and the master at the same time. I would also throw in a remote bleeder, that way you don't have to take half the car apart to bleed the clutch or swap out the clutch fluid.

I would recommend the remote bleeder from RPM motors.

I ended up gettin all the parts from Fred Beans.

$425 for the ls7 clutch kit
$225 for the new slave and master.

Make sure you get a remote bleeder or you will being kicking yourself in a$$.

It looks like this. The top line is the remote bleeder, if you don't use one of these and ever need to bleed the system, you'll have to tear the exhaust and tunnel plate off to reach it. Not a lot of fun.

While you have it apart a remote bleeder is definately not a bad idea...... if you do go ahead without it you can always use the syringe or baster method to remove fluid from the resevoir, with this method you will need to change fluid a few times to get the whole system cleaned out.

I was not able to get my hands on a remote bleeder prior to my installation, nobody had one locally and it was gonna be close to a week before I could get my hands on one..... due to time constraints I had to move forward without it. I use the baster method to keep my fluid clean, my LS7 setup has been in my car for about a year and a half and has performed flawlessly.

The remote bleeder is a great thing to have! But I have always used the syringe method just like MVR 155. It takes a few more minutes but gets the job done just the same.

Thanks again for all the input.

It's good up to a point but it won't help to get the sentiment that collects in the slave. Hopefully you'll get a long life from it.
