I sold it for like $1000 when gas climbed to $1.25 a gallon for premium. the sucker would haul azz, but it was horrible on gas milage and it was my daily driver.
I can still remember that new car smell! Brand new !974 Silver Auto with the super hot? 350/195 Horse .( Remember the mid 70's ?) Cloth seats and more factory defects than I can remember. ( It spent more than 3 months of it's first year in the stealership! ) I got rid of it and bought a used 4 speed Silver '73. Loved it, and have had a Vette(C3 or C4 or C5) most of the time since.(A couple of Kids & house and more pressing neccessities kept me away from Vettes for a little while. ) Hard to think of getting too old to enjoy a Corvette.
CI 1955 (the one in my avatar) bought it new in the Fall as a left over for $3000 and couldn't wait to swap it for a 270hp '57.
It was nice to look at and got lots of comments. The 1955 was the 2nd lowest production (700) after the '53, but was a real PITA. It had a PowerGlide tranny, removable plastic side windows and a soft top that took forever to put up and down. It's saving grace was the 195 hp small block V8.
