I recently picked up a set of Corbeau's and am going to be putting them in the car soon. Just trying to get an idea of what all is involved with the process basically. Things to look out for, tips, tricks, etc.
What goes on with the stock belt system? Usable with these seats? I'd also appreciate some links to quality harness/bar setups. Seats are red, black belts would be best.

Thanks all
You'll need to leave the seat control module and seat wiring harness from the stock seats plugged in, under the Corbeau's or else you'll get codes and your memory and telescopic wheel won't work if you have those options.
Just unplug the power seat module, since you have a FRC you won't have any problems. I have this done to my Z06 with the Corbeau FX Pro.
How are you planning on mounting the seats? Corbeau mounts or another brand? Bottom or side mount? Corbeau bottom mount sliders are not a good idea for track events.
I used Hardbar side mounts and they are great. I was able to install the stock seat belts right to the seat mounts and they work great along with my harness set up.
You can also get the harness bar from Hardbar. I had a Brey Krause before I bought my seat and still use it in my set up with no problems.

As far as I know, the brackets are Corbeau and I'm pretty sure they slide. Track days arent my main concern though I would like to get into it at some point.
Now, what exactly are side mounts? A non-sliding mount?

Thanks to everybody so far.
Corbeau seat brackets suck. It takes a lot of customizing tyo get them to fit well. Some guys re-drill mounting holes, etc. The first ones that I got did not sit flat and the mounting holes did not line up.
It's a shame someone does not make an adapter to bolt the Corbeau's onto the stock seat rails.
The Corbeaus are nice seats but the mounting system leaves little to desire.
Possible to point me towards the best brackets? I'm never one to be satisfied with having to modify and rig hardware, especially if said hardware is lacking to begin with.
I've had the A4's in since 2004 with nary a problem.
My car is not a DD. My stock belts were removed for good.
If I drove my car as a DD, I might have done the reverse
install, but having seen how snug it is...I have no regrets.
Rarely is my seat adjusted foward.
I did drive my car 7000 miles in 10 days and and have done
numerous 'long' trips with no more of a 'needing-to-stretch'
than when I had my stock seats. I'm 6-2 and 215lbs.
I also installed the Brey-Krause bar as well. I've also done
both drag-strip and road course events, which is where
this modification really shines, especially RC.

I completely removed my seats along with the seat control module. I had a friend of mine make a new circuit to plug into to have everything work as normal. Here are a few pics if you choose to do this.

I didnt have any problem at all with mine. I installed them in about an hour. They both slid right down on the bolt no problem. They do have to install on opposite sides but that doesnt bother me because I am the only one who drives it so no need to move the seat. Your gonna love them
Got the seats in and absolutely had to mount them on their opposing brackets. I tried to mount them on their respective brackets and it wasnt even close. The seat belts holsters wouldnt even let the seat come close. I dont have a clue how anybody got theirs in using driver on driver side and vice versa.

It would have been easier to take the seat control module and the wiring harness off of the driver's seat and lay it under your new seat.
You will still get a code for no communications with SCM (Seat control module), just like you get if you put in an aftermarket radio.
I make it a habit not to damage or cut any of the factory wiring harnessess when I do any work so that I can always return it to stock if necessary.
I kept this same philosphy when I did the conversion from a auto to a six-speed.
I am even converting from a coupe to a FRC using all factory parts.
I believe it is better to try and not to hack up anything, unless it is absolutely the only choice.
BTW, the seats look good, but you have lost your memory function by removing the seat controller.
Mine currently looks like this and should look a lot better after ACP finishes up the body and paint work.
BTW, I put in C6 seats.
I didnt get any codes or lights. Im not saing this is the only way but I sold my sport seats so I sold everything with them. Im not in any position to have to sell my car or I would have kept everything to return to stock. BTW, Your car looks great and I cant wait until the final assembly pics

Thanks for the compliments. Hope to start a thread in a month or so that will show others how to do the coupe to FRC conversion along with installing body kit panels.
The 2002 yellow Z06 we had would not run with the seats plugged in.
You have codes, they just don't flash on your screen. If you had telescopic steering wheel or memory option they won't work anymore.
Do this.
The "diagnostic display" mode is entered with the following procedure:
1. Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine.
2. Press the "reset" button to turn off any warning messages
3. Press and hold "options" and
4. While holding "options", press "fuel" four times within a 10-second period
You'll get a no comm error for the SCM (Seat control module). Not all codes shut off your car. Just an FYI.

Other than that, they are in and amazing.
Thanks for the help all.
The Corbeau bracket is a joke. I took mine to a friend with a mill, you only need to mill out the equivalent to a bolt hole to get the seats to fit correctly (on the proper side).
and voila...they fit on the correct side. See tilt lever below.
Nice job you did with those brackets Rick. If I had more time/patience I would have drilled mine out as well.
In all honesty, its not hard at all to reach my reclining lever being next to the tunnel. Slide the seat belt clamp back and it gives plenty of access.
