Don't know how you do it (45,000 on rear?). I am on my 4'th set of tires for 89,000 miles. Longest any have lasted was maybe 25,000.
I don't smoke the rears, but love to accelerate and corner hard. Guess I would have to drive like a little old grandma to make them last (but then, why drive a vette?)
I get 55,000 miles from front OEM tires and 45,000 miles fron rear's. That is probably the top of the range. I have 110,000 miles on my 1998 daily driver.
I think what he said is real close. I'm getting around 45k out of both front and rears. The Michelin pilot sports are just too expensive to keep using for the service life they give you. Plus they are screw magnets. This time around I am going to try BF Goodrich KDWs I think thats what they are called or something like that.
Info here on treadwear ratings is incorrect. Each manufacturer sets their own baseline, so treadwear ratings only apply within their product line-i.e. a 500 michelin outwears a 400 michelin, but has no relation to treadwaer numbers on other manufacturers tires. The only way to measure hardness in a tire is with a durometer.

Holy Crap! That's a lot of miles for one set of tires.
I'm a fairly aggressive driver, but no burn out's or track days just a 100 mile's a day on 1/3 city 1/3 mountain and 1/3 hwy.
Goodyear run flats: 25K front/ <15K year
Michlen Pilot Sports zerro pressure: 30K front/ <20K rear
Goodyear Supper Car: 20K front/ <15K rear
Working on my first set of Firestone Firehawks so far about 15K on them, I think I'll get about 30-35K front/ >25K rear. Not a bad tire for the price I think I'll go with them again or try the Goodyear GSD3's
I put a set of Goodyear F1 GS (THE NON-RUN FLAT VERSION) on my car 2 years ago and they now have 35,000 miles on them. The rears still have a ways to go but the fronts have worn on the inner edges. I had a front end alignment problem but had that corrected. I would say that if you can get from 35 to 50 thousand miles out of a set you are doing good, depending on your driving style. Get your alignment checked after installing the new tires.
