Not sure i understand your question but if it was cut for his car i doubt you can use or recut it. Also there is a code that has to be right for your key to work. If the key is not coded right it won't work.

The key has a chip in it and could be any one of 15 different VATS codes. If you are gonna get it cut, the locksmith will read your key and his and report his findings before he (or she) cuts it.
