Default Quick question regarding tire sizing. Please help!

I'm going to be running a set of I-forged wheels 19x9.5" front and 20x10.5" rear. I will run 275/30/19 Vredestein tires up front and I need to know if running the 295/25/20 will work properly? I don't want to throw off my speedometer or throw out my active handling/traction control. Please help!

Yes - you will more than likely have issues with the sizes listed. The back tires are shorter than the fronts - meaning that the backs will be turning faster than the fronts. The systems will interpret the back wheels are spinning and will invoke traction control.

The fronts are 26.58 inches tall with 782.54 revolutions per mile and the backs are 25.81 inches tall with 805.89 revolutions per mile.

A better choice would be a 305 -30x20 (27.20 inches tall and 764.71 revs per mile).

But I'll bet your tire choice is not available in that size......right?

Thanks for the help but correct me if I'm wrong.

Factory Z06 tires are 265/40/17 with rears measuring 295/35/18.
Fronts would then be 25.5 in diameter with 815.69 rev's per mile.
Rears would be 25.81 diameter with 805.89 rev's per mile.

Am I missing something here???

When I plugged in the sizes you listed (which are indeed the correct Z06 OEM sizes) I came up with the following....

265-40x17 25.35 inches tall and 820.51 revs per mile
295-35x18 26.13 inches tall and 796.02 revs per mile

I don't know how you arrived at your numbers......

the numbers I have are from using the new sizes of 275/30/19 and 295/25/20. Maybe I'm just not thinking straight!

Click on the link I provided in my second post, and plug in the tire sizes, and see what you come up with....

vredestein sessenta's 275/30/19 $177
295/25/20 $209

Great price and I've heard they're really good tires.

Pirelli P Zero Nero's are available in 265/30/19 (25.3"), and 305/25/20 (26.2"). The rear rims should be 11" wide with a 62-65mm offset to keep the rear tires from sticking out.

yeah,
your numbers are correct for the normal factory sizes. However, if you enter the other sizes you get my numbers, no?

Russ, I'm thinking of the pirelli's in those sizes but will they work on a 10.5" rim?

Thanks guys!!

See if you can find any actual specs listed for these tires.

The theoretical of the two sizes is 25.5 and 25.8"....but I know most 275/30/19s come in actually measuring 25.7 or 25.8".

If there really is a .3" difference between the front/rears (rears being taller), you'd probably be ok. But this one's too close to call based on just calculating the nominal sizes, you need the actual specs from the tire mfr..

Did you already order the wheels? What is the offset on the 20x10.5? An 11" wheel is the min for a 305 tire, but you could use a 10.5 wheel.

Russ,

I'll have to check the offset. The wheels are already ordered and on their way since they were ordered from Iforged and were amazingly in-stock. All I know is they are a standard formula series wheel and are said to fit C5's perfectly. Will a 305/25/20 work well?

These are OZ Superleggera wheels. The front are 18x9.5 59mm offset with 265/35/18 PS2's. The rear are 19x11 65mm offset with 305/30/19 PS2's.
No rubbing, and they don't stick out. You want the rear tires to be close to 1 inch taller than the front tires so that the front tire sidewall isn't taller than the rear tire sidewall. Having taller sidewall front tires than the rear just doesn't look right.
