That will work but why put them skinny tires on a ZO6?

Vredesteins are actually from the Netherlands, however the designer of the latest tires is Italian; hence the name "Sessanta" on the sidewalls, which is Italian for "sixty" I believe.
In any case, I have a set of these tires ready to go onto my Z on Friday. I ended up with 275/40's in the front, as they fit with no issues. I would prefer the wider tire to having the same overall diameter, and even then I'm really not sure I'm that far off in the first place. I suppose I'll know on Friday when I get these bad boys installed!

Just because someone says it will work, it doesn't mean properly. I've read many posts over the years about the results of having the same height front & rear tires.
Then they have to turn off the T/C. Turning off the T/C for street use is very unsafe in general.
If your rear wheels are the same dia as the front, the rear wheels are turning faster compared to the front (stock, rear wheels turn slower than the front).
The car then "thinks" that the rear tires are spinning, causing the T/C to enable.
Also having the same height front & rear tires looks odd.
Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta makes a 265/35/18 & 295/35/18.

The sizes you listed in your original post are 20 mm narrower than the tires that came on your ZO6. If you are saying that a 275mm Vred. Sesssanta is as wide as a 295mm GY F1 Supercar you are wrong.

The rears are 1/4in.smaller than the goodyears--Cant tell by looking--have to measure its that close--vred. makes there tires extra wide--great tire--try a set next time--

Running the same diameters front and rear may not produce any adverse affects under normal driving conditions. However, when you do NEED the active handling, traction control or ABS, the computer may not activate functions properly due to the fact it is designed to work with tires that are larger diameter in the rear than the front. I run 18" wheels front and rear, but I have 10" wide fronts and 11" wide rears. I have 265/35 and 295/35 PS2's which are the same diameters as the stock tires. You need at least two sizes between the front and the rears in the same rim diameter. This is according to GM specs.

stock sizes on a z06 are 295/35/18 for the rear, 265/40/17 for the front

I am not a 100% sure but I was under the impression the total diameter needed to only be 0.5 differnece between the front and back to have the TC function correctly. I myself run a 255/40/17 and 315/30/18 to keep that 0.5 difference as I would have opted for the 275/40/17 but it created the same total diameter as the rear at 25.6.

A 255/40 25" tall tire is tiny. It won't look good on the vette. I have run oem 18s all the way around on my car at the track and on the street and haven't had any TC/AH problems. I don't think you will have any problems with OEM sized fronts and 315s on the rear. Though i will say a 40 series front vs a 30 series rear doesn't look right to me even though it will function fine.
