12 cd changer question
12 CD changer has power,it ejects the cartridge when door is opened but does not seem to be recognized by the single cd head unit up front.It did have an err code at one time but now the thing has amnesia.Any thoughts? I did disconnect the plu and the battery too no avail.

Battery strong? If it's even a little bit weak it can and will cause major headaches with the CD player. I was going to replace mine when I read about the battery issue. Changed it out and been good to go since!!

My cd player does the same thing. I have found if i put the cds in first with the car not running the cd will load 1 at a time. once done they play.....takes about 1 or 2 mins for it to load all of them. thats if u have 12 cds in..... this works for me i hope i works for u. good luck....

...with the above. While it's reading the CD magazine, you should hear the whirring noises from the trunk changer and see the icon on the dash radio flashing. When it's ready, the icon will stop flashing.
The CDs should go shiny side up, which seems just the opposite of what it should be to me.

If you lose power - changing out battery, etc... you need to reset the 12 Disc CD changer. There is a small hole on top of the changer. Use a paperclip to hit the reset - ignition needs be to be ON. Charger should now work! Good Luck!

if all else fails, try pulling the plug on the changer... let it sit overnight, and try it again (I believe there is a micro-processor in the unit).

I had already tried the pull the plug method and it had not worked.
