On a twisty creek front road a crotch rocket kept running up and backing off this morning, we were behind a trailer. No way to pass. I looked up in rear view to see him and his bike tumbling toward me, catching me! I had to floor it to let him miss! He slid a good 100 feet. I pulled over ran back and called 911. He was hurt Petty bad. Kept him still till help arrived. Cars were flying by and we were half out in road, didn't want to move him. Another guy stooped and directed traffic. He said his tire blew, not, he just lost it show boating behind the vette. He hand on all the stuff, helmet, ballistic vest, gloves, but rolling around with that bike on top of him
Man, I don't get it. Anyone can purchase one of those crotch rockets and go out and kill themselves. Don't get me wrong, I love bikes, but those crotch rockets can be lethal in the wrong hands. No wonder bike insurance is so high.

Hmmmmm......sounds familiar. No special license to go out and kill yourself driving a high performance car like a Corvette either. It can be lethal in the wrong hands too.
good job!! i have seen way to many morons on a crotch rocket. i seen one kid doing about 100 MPH and up on one wheel passing cars. and every once in awhile on interstate seen someone pass me like i was standing still. and i was doing 80-85 MPH!!!! i got a zx-9 kawasaki and i do like getting on it every once in awhile. but you can't be screwing off and have a brain fart. one mistake your history. about ran over a dead raccoon on road last year scared the hell out of me.

well actually you do NEED a Mortorcycle endorsement here in Florida anyway....ride without it and get stopped it is a felony..3rd degree. That being said we had a jackazz last week stunting on a major road lost it and guess what...yep...no MC endorsement Lucky he wasn't run over. FWIW I don't see any Corvette drivers pulling wheelies in traffic. Sure anyone can drive like a jackazz but you certainly see alot more of it with the young sportbike guys.

I just read through the FL motor vehicle code, Chapter 322... Chapter 322.15 and can't find any motor vehicle operators license violation that is a felony in the third degree unless it the violation is driving upon a public highway while an operators license is suspended, canceled or revoked (for a third offense?).
I found where it states that not having an operators license in possession is a non moving motor vehicle infraction as defined in Chapter 318.
I'm not questioning your knowledge since you live there, I'm just curious how motor vehicle laws are from state to state.
Could you please advise what specific motorcycle endorsement statute is specified as a 3rd degree felony? (a violation of state or federal law which is punishable by time served in a state prison). http://www.flsenate.gov/Statutes/ind...322/ch0322.htm

All I'm saying Robert is that hardly a week goes by that we all don't read a story about someone who has turned off the T/C and A/H and then got into big trouble with four wheels.
I used to ride a bike, in fact I still have my MC license. But if I were to ever get back on - I would take a rider's safety course and update all of my gear to modern standards.
No - we don't see Corvette drivers doing Wheelies in traffic, but you have to admit that you've seen some pretty stupid stunts in a Corvette in traffic that sometime lead to tragic results.
My point is that stupidity, youthful exuberance and bad decisions are not limited to two wheels....plenty of that on four wheels.
I ride and you have to use your head. I drive a vette and its the same deal. I see people on cell phones and I have no respect. Everyone should exercise good judgement and pproper awareness.
Thanks for helpin the rider out... They were lucky you were compassionate enough to lend a hand!
Yesterday I saw two rice rocket riders coming at me on a two lane residential road, both were only riding on the rear wheel with the front up - hauling azz. Does it matter if you break the speed limit on just one wheel?
