I'm looking for some advice on spark plugs. I just recently purchased a set of Callaway spark plug wires, but, I was told that before I install them that it is suggested that the spark plugs should be changed also, is this or what?. So, I started researching the best plug for the car, 2003 coupe with moderate modifications, however, I wasn't able to find any rock hard data on which plug works best for the car. In the end after looking at NGK, Bosch, AC Delco, iridium, platinums, and blah, blah, blah, I still don't know which one to go with. Anyone out there that can lead me in the right direction?
you can do a search on this one man....prolly find alot of stuff on this topic. For me.....i have an 01 with 50k on her. I read that after the 70 thou mark...the plugs get ALOT harder to get out....so i didnt want to bother with that at all. I ordered a tool from snap on which made the job 10 times easier. The passenger side isnt bad....drivers is another story...#7 is the worst(plug closest to windshield on drivers side)...very little room and without the proper tool...you can cause more damage that intended. The info on the part # is S9721A and thats right on snap on's website www.snapon.com. Its a swivel spark plug tool....but it makes the job alot easier. The wires...in my opinion were a PAIN in the rear to get off...only way i was able to get them off is to carefully rip them apart(least with my tools thats all i could do). Once i got them off the job was cake. I went with the AC delco red performance wires, and ACdelco iridium plugs. Car runs perfect and the plugs are good for 100k so i figured that was a good choice. If you have mods done to your engine i have heard NGKs are VERY good....just a lil pricey I would highly recommend using a die-electric compound in the new wire boots...will make them easier going on...and easier coming off if you ever need to. Here is a link that shows some nice hints about doing the wires and plugs....thats where i got most of my info from. http://www.c5forum.com/diy/sparkplugs.php
Hope this helps man...good luck! Ray aka BlackOut

You don't have to change the plugs. If you think you might have to, ake a look at them first.
Callaway uses the Delco plugswhen change is required.
