Default Anyone had problems fitting WCC hoops? (kinda long)

Have any of you guys installed these and how did they fit?
I ordered hoops for the wife's 01 from Corvette Central the first week of January, and got them the third week of January (I was surprised to see them in a WCC box). I was waiting on the seats to come back and thought I would pre-fit and make preparations to install them so I would be ready when the seats finally arrived. I unwrapped them and tried to fit them onto the bulkhead on January 29th. They didn't seem to fit well, but I thought that when it came time to glue them, they would tighten up. I thought about making sure the deck lid would close, and guess what...it wouldn't. It lacked about 1-1.5" of even starting to close. You can't even pull them far enough forward to clear. There is no right or left and you can't put them on backwards because one leg of the bracket is longer. I studied the situation and noticed that the bracket didn't didn't seem to seat all the way down over the bulkhead and did some measuring the next morning (30th). The bulkhead is 2-7/8" wide. The hoop bracket is only 2-3/8" at the top. This makes it sit up at least 1/2" and back at least 1" because of the angle on the bracket. I called CC and told them it wouldn't fit. They said they didn't have any, and wouldn't until late February, and didn't know why they didn't fit. They said they would send me a return tag. I called WCC and talked to several technicians (they didn't have any until late Feb either). THEY told me that the bulkhead should only be 2-1/4" wide and that they have sold thousands of these and never had an issue. They said that the car must have been "wrecked or something" and that's why they don't fit. While I was waiting for my return paperwork from CC (I still don't have it) I measured the bulkhead on my '99 coupe and a couple of other friends' verts. They are all 2-3/4" to 2-7/8" wide. I talked to WCC again today and they want me send them the hoops at my expense so they can see if they are defective and would send another set if they are. They said they wouldn't have any to replace them with until almost March. Now, CC said it was okay to return them, but I have to pay freight to send them back because it's been so long. They said they didn't know anything about sending a return label, and if I wanted replacements, look at March delivery.
I want the hoops. I have no way of knowing if another set is going fit any better or not, because I don't have any to compare. I would wait if I thought a new set would ACTUALLY fit.

Imput?

Pic shows lack of clearance. Blue masking tape on the edge to keep from nicking paint.

Look closely where the top of the bracket is supposed to rest on the bulkhead next to the waterfall bracket. There is about 1/2" of space.

I bought similar hoops from Corvette South... And they too came from WCC. Mine are Leather Wrapped to match the interior of the car.

I'm planning on installing these in April when we take a road trip to MO to see oak and Nouman.... Oak is going to be installing them. So I hope to pick up some pointers in this thread....

Keep us posted on your progress....

I have the wcc hoops in both my c5 and c6 corvette (both are verts), and they both fit flawlessly.
